"Sir Thomas Beecham led one of the greatest performances of Strauss's early masterpiece ever captured on record. The reviewer above clearly doesn't understand that this is a "historical" recording and that these hardly ever come with librettos and very often come with less than pristine sound. They are invaluable for giving us performances by the very greatest artists of earlier eras. Like here, one of the greatest conductors, Sir Thomas Beecham, in a truly legendary performance."
