CD Reviews

Hard rock with a little soft twist.

"It took me a good 2-3 times listening through this CD before I really got accustomed to their sound and enjoy what this band has to offer. The lead singer can scream and hold a pitch, and often alternates within the songs.A chorus can be sung with good pitch one time around, and be screamed into your face in another.

The guitarist is spot on; alot of times he matches the singer in pitch and intonation so it sounds like the lead singer has another singer backing him.

A few of my favorites include Rabies, Flatline, Scars, and Dummy block. Dummy block is the kind of song that is simpler then the rest of the album, but makes you want to jump with the song because the band's groove is spot on.

If you are not 100% into hard rock bands, this band is a little bit of a aquired taste. But it is well worth it as this band has alot to offer."
Can't Get It Out Of My CD Player Or Out Of My Head!!!

"This is an amazing band, with smooth rhythms and intense screaming; ripping guitar solos and crashing drum beats and bass lines. I have had this CD in my headphones, car stereo and home stereo every chance I have had. And it has ALWAYS been cranked up loud! Can't get enough of Bloodshot, Broken Promises, Texas Cries, Dummy Block, and Pancake Land, but it's definitely the CD to listen to straight through a lot. First saw E80 opening for Sevendust in July '03, and nobody had ever heard them before, but everybody liked them! I just remember turning to my friend after every song, saying how amazing they sounded. Didn't want them to get off the stage!Bought the CD the day it came out, and seen them up front five times so far, and they have definitely stolen the show every time! The best live song has got to be Dummy Block, when they play it a lot faster than on the CD, also Pancake Land and Texas Cries are two of the best songs I've ever heard live. Dave screams with an intense energy, Matt is such a talented loud guitarist, Ryan pounds on the drums so hard I think he's gonna knock them over, and Roon strums the bass really well. I was talking with Roon and found out he was born in Clifton Park NY, the county next to mine. All the guys are so friendly and cool to talk to; they have a dedication and music that will definitely get them far. Really looking forward to a new CD already!Just can't wait to see them again, but until then the CD will continue to be cranked loud and the songs stuck in my head. 10 out of 5 stars, or 80 thumbs up like someone said!"
