Ella at her best, singing traditional carols and hymns strai

"Run down the entire list of cuts. This is a remake of two albums from about 1956. She sings nearly all of them with very little embellishment.

She has the power and self-confidence to let the traditional stand on its own. Perhaps 'I shall not be moved' has a little hint of the turmoil in race relations that was about to explode across the country soon after these were recorded.
