"This is Ella at her best, captivating a live audience. She is seamless and high energy, and smoothly moves from jazzy tunes to Broadway tunes to a fabulous cover of the Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night." She ends with a version of "Old McDonald Had a Farm" which is not like any other version you have ever heard, not to be found on any other Ella CD. This cherry is for Ella connoisseurs and beginners alike."

"Far from Ella at her best, it is even rather far from her best live concert album. She sometimes pushes too hard, straining at notes. The band often pushes too little, taking a laid back attitude with mediocre arrangements.

For those who want to get every Ella album available, live and studio, it is an okay addition, provided an inexpensive copy can be found.
