"Try to imagine Dusty Springfield at the time of her classic "Memphis" singing with the ineffable sadness of Bilie Holiday. Stir in completely excellent background vocals and huge orchestrations in the best southern soul style with extraneous stings and you've got some of the best music produced in this fertilke time period- 1967-1973; what I call the great film noir period of American Music. This gal isn't politically correct but she feels things deeply, opens her heart and pours it all forth with her beautiful voice. Best rare soul item isued on a US cd!"

"The fact that there is no other collection of songs by this long forgotten and criminally underrated artist defies reason. For anyone who appreciates the combination of skill and authenticty in vocal delivery, her voice will be a treasure. Also Try : Ruby Johnson, I'll Run Your Hurt Away"
