"I bought this Soundtrack mainly for the fantastic version of "He moved thorugh the fair" by Sinead O'Conner, and I love the whole CD. Very Reasonably priced and hard to get hold of in NZ I was very pleased to get this!! Loved every inch of it.
Highly Recommended"

"I was flipping through the movie channels on the TV, when I came across the movie "Michael Collins". I just caught the tail end of it, but the music stayed vivdly in my mind. I rented the movie so I could watch all of it, and I immediately knew that I had to buy this soundtrack. In my opinion, the best song on the CD is "Funeral/Coda". Every time I listen to it I get goosebumps. Elliot Goldenthal truly outdid himself and the vocals by Sinead O'Connor are splendid. Every song on it is worth the money. Absolutely beautiful."
Goldenthal's masterpiece

"Elliot Goldenthal is a fantastic composer; however, because of his modern musical sensibilities, his film scores are not easy listening -- they are often somewhat inaccessible and difficult to sit through. MICHAEL COLLINS is not. Written at the peak of Goldenthal's career so far in 1996 (between his 1995 FIRE WATER PAPER: A VIETNAM ORATORIO and his 1997 OTHELLO ballet), MICHAEL COLLINS is, along with FINAL FANTASY: THE SPIRITS WITHIN and TITUS, one of his very finest film scores. More accessible than TITUS and more human than FINAL FANTASY, this score is a powerful, tragic and frequently beautiful dramatic score, bookended by vocals from Sinéad O'Connor. This score should be on the shelf of any soundtrack collector and any lover of good music. This is Elliot Goldenthal's filmic masterpiece.
Runtime: 47:13 (43:43 of score)"

"I am one of the biggest Elliot Goldenthal freaks you'll find. I haven't seen many of the movies that he has scored, but his music is so vivid, colorful, and beautiful, you can't help but be swept away by it anyway! Michael Collins is no exception! This is one of Goldenthal's more calm, contemplative, and powerful scores. It features all the orchestration elements that make him stand out, but it is a very solid, flowing score that features many great moments of music! This is another must have for any Elliot Goldenthal fan!"
