Talking about a hard job to do!

"Imagine having to pick from all of Elvis' great songs and compile a 3 cd set. Tough job. Now imagine taking the "best" songs from that set and making a single cd. Difficult to say the least. This is a great collection for novice fans, general music lovers, and diehards like me who buy just about every Elvis CD that comes out. Great packaging and great sound. Sure I already have the box set...But like I said this is a great set for beginners and the general public. I like that it's not totally 1956 focused like a lot of greatest hits packages have been over the years. This is sure to please!"
Great Overview Of Career

"I'm a life long Elvis fan. I own all the box sets including Artist Of the Century And I still bought this collection because it edits the 3 Cd set down to (argueably) the best of the best. This is the best single disc overview of Elvis' career currently available. This is what I put in my player when I want to hear the very best of the Hundreds of songs Elvis recorded. '"
Long Time Fan

"Here we go again. BMG has issued yet another useless product. The same songs over and over again. This time an edited version of Artist of the Century Cd. While BMG keeps allowing alternate takes and unreleased material to be issued in Denmark and other European countries. We in the U.S. get the junk at high prices. Poor compilations of old material issued to death. BMG does not concider the U.S. fan to be important enough to release a fresh and creative product to. Elvis was better than this and the U.S. fan is too. Only a handful of good CD's have been issued in the last two years here in the states. Who ever picks the material for these projects should be replaced with someone that knows more about Elvis and his legacy in music and what the U.S. fan wants."
A definitive one CD recap of Elvis' career

"Okay, so there's lot a great material not on this compilation. But there is a fairly even number of songs from each of the major periods of his career. It's rather hard to choose a definite dividing line between periods, but basically, The first six songs are the young Elvis, and include "That's All Right" and "Baby, Let's Play House", which don't appear on as many collections as the others. 7-13 cover development of his voice and style, including the less often heard "One Night," "Trouble," and "Reconsider, Baby". 14-18 represents a return to the type of song the younger Elvis sang, but with a developed style...all of these being less commonly heard: "Little Sister", "Return to Sender", "(You're the) Devil In Disguise", "It Hurts Me", and "Big Boss Man". Cuts 19-25 include the fully mature Elvis with "In the Ghetto", "Only the Strong Survive", "Polk Salad Annie", "An American Trilogy", "Burning Love", and "Promised Land" along with the longer version of "Suspicious Minds". So this is an excellant first Elvis CD for your collection, but even if you already have one or two CD's, you'll probably find that you're missing about 2/3 of the material available on this collection."
Elvis sings new and songs he has sung before on this cd.

"The first two songs are on this cd was not recored for RCA (but they are on here anyways). The songs are That's All Right and Baby, Let's Play House. Elvis recored those songs for Sun Studios.Heartbreak Hotel is on this too. And it's mostly on his other cds (But not on Christmas cd). It whould be odd if you bought any Elvis Presley cd and Heartbreak Hotel was not on it.There are aslo rare songs that on this cd, like In The Ghetto, Little Sister, Can't Help Falling In Love, and Polk Salad Annie. Aslo on this cd is Burning Love and It Hurts Me.If you know somebody that doesn't have this cd and it is a big Elvis fan. There you go."
