CD Reviews

An early Rock and Roll classic

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is a re-issue of the 1956 Rock and Roll classic Blue Suede Shoes. Due to an agreement between RCA and Sun Records Elvis' version of the song was not released as a single in the US, it was released on his first album and on an EP (Sun Records was concerned that an Elvis single of it would hurt their sales of Carl Perkins' version). Despite that, Elvis version was still a top 20 hit in the US. It was an even bigger hit overseas where it was released as a single. This release includes the orginal B-side, Tutti Frutti, plus an excellent bonus recording of Lawdy Miss Clawdy. A nice collector's item."
