"This is a mono soundboard recording of Elvis Presley's concert in Sound Bend, Indiana on October 1, 1974. It is a fairly typical concert for the time period. Elvis is in good voice, but seems to be in a bad mood. He displays a short temper, acting somewhat snappish at the audience and the members of his band. But the audience loves Elvis so much, they don't even notice his rudeness. Truthfully, those outburts make the CD more interesting to listen to. As for the music, it is a typical set list from the era. Elvis sings with a decent amount of energy. Highlights include "It's Midnight", "Big Boss Man", "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "You Gave Me a Mountain" and "Steamroller Blues" (played by request after someone shouts out "Steamroller!"). "You Gave Me a Mountain" is a unique version of the song, because Elvis speaks rather than sings several of the lyrics. There are three bonus tracks taken from concerts a few days prior to this one. Elvis adlibs the Peggy Lee song "Alright, Okay, You Win" when the piano player's solo reminds him of that song, but he doesn't remember all the words. "Blue Christmas" is a fairly sloppy version of that song. "Trying to Get to You" goes fairly well, until Elvis completely misses the ending."

"This is a 1974 soundboard release on the collewctor's label Follow that Dream. From the opening lines of See See Rider it is plain that Elvis is in both good humor and voice for this performance. He sings great versions of See See Rider, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Lawdy Miss Clawdy, Blue Suede Shoes, Fever and many others. On a scale of 1 to ten I rate his performance an eight out of ten. It does not have the raw energy of his 68,69,70 performances or the dramatic flair of the February and June shows of 1977 but it is a great addition to a fan's collection."
