Synopsis

Album Description
Out of print in the U.S.! Digitally remastered installment in the Elvis Double Features series includes the complete soundtracks to a pair of Elvis' '60s fun-filled feature films. The artwork is superior to the deleted domestic titles as it features photos of the original vinyl releases on the cover. This CD contains all the songs from the movies Frankie & Johnny (1965) and Paradise Hawaiian Style (1966). Elvis' acting may have been a little stiff, but his vocal performances on his soundtrack recordings were always electrifying. 22 tracks including 'Scratch My Back', 'This Is My Heaven' and 'Down By The Riverside/When The Saints Go Marching In'. Camden.

"This CD pairs up two of Elvis' movie soundtracks from 1966, Frankie And Johnny and Paradise, Hawaiian Style. Both original soundtrack albums were modest hits in the US reaching 20 and 15 on the album charts respectively. Paradise, Hawaiian Style was an attempt to recapture some of the success of 1961's Blue Hawaii, which was Elvis' all-time biggest hit album. If they had done it a few years earlier, perhaps it would have worked, but as it was too much time had passed and it was nowhere near the success. This CD includes two songs that were modest hits in 1966, Frankie And Johnny (which peaked at 25 on the US singles chart) and its flip-side Please Don't Stop Loving Me (which hit 45). This is recommended only for avid Elvis fans."
