Synopsis

Album Description

Limited Edition CD single box set released to coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the death of The King. The box itself will contain the 'Heartbreak Hotel' CD single plus space for 17 more singles to be released throughout the remainder of 2007. Each CD will be released in ?mini-vinyl? replica card sleeves with an outer and inner bag. The outer bag features the original U.S. or U.K. Picture artwork and the inner bag replicates a generic RCA single sleeve from the time of the original release. The artwork for the CD Disc will replicate the original 7" vinyl release including authentic vinyl label artwork and the discs themselves will be black ?mock-vinyl?. Each CD will be limited and individually numbered. Songs featured: two versions of 'Heartbreak Hotel' (Original and Alternate Take Six) plus the single's original B-side, 'I Was The One'. "This was released because of the 50th aniversary of the release of this single. It has an outtake as an extra. The cover of the EP was used since singles didn't have picture covers for Elvis until Hound Dog/Don't Be Cruel.

This is for collector's since most people would buy these songs on a Greatest Hits compilation."

The start of a music revolution!

"What can you say about a classic that started a revolution in popular music? This single went to number 1 on the US singles chart and stayed their for 7 weeks. The flip side also charted, peaking at 23 on the Billboard Top 100. The single would eventually be certified MULTI-PLATINUM by the RIAA. This CD single includes both the original 45 single A and B sides plus an alternate take of Heartbreak Hotel as a bonus. This is a piece of history and a must for any student of rock.

Incidentally, this single was re-released in 2006 and hit number 1 again on the Billboard Singles Sales chart 50 years after it did it the first time! Talk about staying power!
