CD Reviews

He's The King

"
One of Elvis' better movies. And the songs are also very

good.

"King Creole", the title song, ranks among the best of his

rockers. Leiber & Stoller, what else is there to say. And

the back-up, D.J. Fontana, Scotty Moore, Bill Black, The

Jordanaires. That's what else to say.

"Crawdad", another New Orleans oriented song, is crafted

well and grafted well onto the soundtrack sequence.

I don't even want to think which part of the place Dante

describes, Colonel Tom Parker to be.

But that illegal immigrant deprived us all Presley the Actor.

The pedigree that is KING CREOLE got it the caliber of songs

it did.
