This is great music and I'm sure many of the outtakes will be illuminating. The problem here is that two other songs, "Take Good Care of Her" and "I've Got a Thing About You Baby" were recorded at these July, 1973 sessions. They were released only as a single so they were not on the original album. However, four other songs that weren't on the original album are included here. I usually love the FTD releases overseen by the most excellent Elvis fan of all time, Ernst Jorgensen. He literally wrote the (wonderful) book on Elvis' sessions and most of his compilations are delightfully comprehensive. I might get this one anyway, but from a compulsive completist standpoint, it will never be quite as satisfying as it could have been."

""Raised on Rock" by Elvis



It's amazing, the man has been gone for 30 years and I am still buying Elvis music for my brother for Christmas. This was delivered on Christmas Eve and the headphones have not left my brother's head since then (except for work, sleep, eating and showering). He is a sophisticated fan, cannot impress him with the standard re-releases of Elvis stuff. He is THRILLED with this, has wanted it for months and thanks to Amazon, although I had to wait until 12/21/07 to order, my brother is happy on Christmas and telling everyone what a great sister he has. This is for the true fan who wants to hear anything from Elvis that has never been released before. Thanks Amazon!

"A great album. The people who listen Elvis normally don't know anything about him after 1969. "That the way it is" and "Raised on Rock" are for me two classic albums for the history rock and show us that Elvis is until live !!!"
