"Listening to this is like finding an old reel-to-reel recording made by your parents from a radio show. It's more a historical recording than a "good listening" recording, although the restoration is brilliant. If you're interested in hearing (the young) Elvis at his very best get the Sun Sessions CD. If you want to hear Elvis and feel like you're sitting in the waybackradiomachine, get this one. No reason you can't have it both ways...get one of each!"

"The "Roots Revolution: Louisiana Hayride" CD is successful because the music included is clear and it is probably the closest you can get and imagine how Elvis, Scotty, Bill and DJ Fontana sounded during those early live concerts. The CD comes with a mini book which contains anecdotes of the Hayride shows with black & white pictures of Elvis and an explanation of the restoration process. For those fans who were not present in those early concerts but want to experience how it was, this is a must."
