There's a slight breathiness or husky tone to the voice that creates the feeling she is singing just to you or crooning a lover to sleep. Some categorize it as New Age, but there's celtic here as well with several traditional songs sung in gaelic. "She Moved Through the Fair" gets a hypnotic, gypsy style treatment.
