CD Reviews

A wonderful jazz guitar album with stellar support!
Erik Werkman | Utrecht, Netherlands | 05/17/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is one the best albums of the late guitarist Emily Remler. Supported by the marvelous rhythm section of Hank Jones, Buster Williams and the always moving Marvin "Smitty" Smith, she handles the varied material with ease and brilliance. The title cut is my personal favorite of the album. Highly recommended."
If you like Sco and Wes ...

"Emily's style never had a chance to mature, but it seems she shares some of the same elements that inspired John Scofields' style. This is somewhere between Wes Montgomery and early Sco. It may be the one to get if you can't decide which Remler to start with."
Emily's Masterpiece
Steven Randazzo | Chester Heights, PA | 03/19/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Emily Remler's last straight-ahead jazz recording before her untimely death. This is a "must-have" for any Emily Remler fan or any jazz guitar fan. The title track, "East to Wes" is a gas and her rendition of "Snowfall" is mesmerizing, creating a warm feeling like you're sitting in front of a fireplace watching the snow outside. Not a bad tune in this set."
