"yeah, this really is one of the best CDs ever issued, and is a good advert for CDs in general (the tracks on this compilation are culled from several different soundtrack albums from the late 60s and early 70s). The mood varies from heavenly wordless vocals washed with warm strings and atmospheric electric harpsichord, through light bossa nova and upbeat organ beat music. There is a second volume which is equally good - moremondomorricone. You'll probably never buy a better CD than either, so try and track them down (I think they are getting harder and harder to find)."

"Sono pazzo di "mondomorricone". I love every melody on this disc. It's the perfect soundtrack for those who own 60s-era sportcars: especially an Avanti, or maybe a Giulietta. More to the point, it's a little treasure for lovers of 60s culture in general, regardless of whether they dig Morricone or not. It's also great background music for the lounge party crowd -- it kicks butt on just about anything else they'll feature. It's the dreamers of this world (and we are legion) who will spin off in flights of fancy over groovy music like "La lucertola" ("The Lizard") and other tracks featured here. The nonsense lyrics and flighty melody on "Le Foto proibite di una signora per bene" ("The Forbidden Photographs of a Respectable Woman") are a blast to trip-out on; after a couple of spins, they start to make sense (uh oh). Trust me: you're gonna go "Way-out, way-out!" on your discovery. Purchase this classic now. I paid over $20 for it 10 years ago and it's worth much more than that for the pleasure it's given me. E mille grazie al maestro Morricone, che ci ha divertito da parecchi anni. Quanto e' bello, lui! Una vera istituzione."
