"All of Eric's albums are very good, but this one is the best--it is SMOKIN'! Great songs, great guitar playing, and great guitar tone! TOP NOTCH on all! Eric's vocals are not his forte, but they're good enough to serve the songs well, and he actually displays some skill in vocal expression and melisma on a few tunes. Just not the most powerful voice out there. But no matter, his guitar playing will DROP YOUR JAW! He gives Joe Bonamassa a definite run for his money on the top blues/rock guitar slinger out there today. The title song, "Red, White and Blues" (kind of a corny title, but the song is FANTASTIC), and "You Don't Move Me" are highlights for me. But it's ALL GREAT--not one dud on the CD! Eric G. definitely hit a home run with this one--IT SHOULD WIN AN ALBUM OF THE YEAR GRAMMY--EASILY--but sadly, it won't, because it's GOOD. That's against the rules for winning music awards these days. CRAP is in, GOOD is out. But as long as the good stuff is available at good ol' standbys like Amazon, who cares if it never hits the charts! Buy it and make it your OWN #1 record!
Eric Gales's guitar style closely resembles Joe Bonamassa's--great, expressive, rock-edged blues playing with a spoonful of shredding here and there to make it more exciting. The main difference between the guitar playing styles of these two blues/rock powerhouses is that Eric tends to focus on more electric blues and a little funk, while Joe dips into slide, acoustic and mainstream pop rock here and there. So if you like Joe B. but are not too familiar with Eric, you need to acquire the entire catalog of Eric Gales. He deserves a LOT MORE attention!"
Good one

"Stron effort from this modern guitar-master. If you like solid blues-rock guitar, do yourself a favor and pick this one up."
