This program of heroic music from the late 19th and early 20th centuries by Dupré, Brewer, Stanford, Dubois and Jongen, and from the high baroque by Telemann, featuring the Aeolian / Mander organ of the landmark Princeton University Chapel is a sonic spectacular that sounds great in stereo on standard CD players, and even better in DSD (Direct Stream Digital) Stereo and 5.1 DSD Surround Sound on SACD surround players. Princeton University Organist Eric Plutz gives a remarkable performance throughout this disc. The Washington Symphonic Brass are featured in track 3 in a critically-acclaimed performance of Marcel Dupre's Poeme Heroique. Later in the program, Phil Snededor of the Washington Symphonic Brass is spotlighted in 2 short works by Telemann (tracks 7 and 8) with Eric Plutz playing a small continuo organ, and Alistair MacRae on violoncello.
