"Ernst Busch is a singer of the German Left who was associated with avant-garde composers such as Hans Eisler and Paul Dessau, and other exponents of German Expressionist Opera. This CD also contains many songs from the Spanish Civil War which are virtually impossible to find elsewhere. Busch was later captured by the invading Germans while he was in exile and he spent many years in prison until liberated by the advancing Russians. A very good compilation of some little-known modernist music."
