I was introduced to this artist by someone who was dear to me and shared my taste in music. I really enjoyed it then and even more so now. Esteban is a fantastic guitarist and this album is spectacular. I most especially like track #8 Blue Lotus. I will always appreciate that person for sharing this.

Decent If You Want Flamenco Guitar music on DVD Audio But...

(3 out of 5 stars)

"This is good if you want to hear Flamenco Guitar music on DVD Audio. It also comes with two tracks performed live which are nice. The mixing splits the instruments between the 5.1 channels well, although the bass is somewhat low and sometimes the trumpets have a shrill sound.
But as Flamenco Guitar music goes, I don't see what the fuss is all about. I bought this based on the reviews below, but I don't see this as any better than Ottmar Liebert or even Oscar Lopez in terms of sheer technical virtuosity. And some of the arrangements are pretty cliched and mundane. Ottmar Liebert is more inventive. I feel cheated in that respect.

If you want to hear some guitar playing that is technically brilliant and emotionally powerful, listen to John Williams, "Classic Williams: Romance of the Guitar." Its mostly classical guitar, and its better than this."

"Please note that this page does not say anything about needing a special CD player to play this CD. It requires the use of a DTS decoder which is not on most common CD players. Not even my DVD player can play it! Now I can't return it because the CD has been opened. What a waste of money."
