(5 out of 5 stars)

"EUGENE HIDEAWAY BRIDGES Man
Without A Home ARMD 00009 If Sam Cooke had a son, here he is
people. Sweetest voice I have heard in a lonng time. Anutha US
citizen hiding out in England. This is his SECOND CD out & BOTH
are SUPPEERRRBBB. I USED TO SING LOVE SONGS . but now I
sing the blues is the love lost tune. Nice guitar, great pipes.
She was here, now she's gone. Ooopss, anutha one bites the dust.
MAN WITHOUT A COUNTRY Sweet guitar intro. The slow blues fun
ride here. Its a blue day in the life friends. No where to go,
oh nooo. Funky beginning BLUESMAN, Isley Bros look out, here
comes HIDEAWAY. Oh no, reality tune, PAY THE RENT. How bout
throwing a little something into the pot ? . FALLING IN LOVE is
the love song, done Sam Cooke style. What a voice !! ALWAYS reminds
me of a Prince tune. Anutha love song, holding on then lettin' go. I will
remember you ALWAYS. Man, love sure hurts sometime huh ? If you like vocals,
that old time feelin', soul in the air, everywhere tunes this is your date. Why
HIDEAWAY is not HUGGGEEE is beyond my comprehension. Give this a try,
you'll LOVE IT. Promise:) Bluespower. Over & out."
Rhythmic power
R. C. Kahrl | 03/27/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I first heard the opening cut of this disc on XM radio. It had enormous drive for a studio recording, so I bought the disc and discovered that the rest of the disc was driving just as hard as the opening. Even when he slows way down in "Walk the Back Streets," the power is there. Nine of the eleven cuts are traditional 12-bar blues, at all different speeds and rhythms. Two of the best cuts are non-blues songs composed by Hideaway, "Won't Cry No More" and "She Want to Dance with Me." This latter song is sensational. It recalls songs of the early 60's like the Beach Boys' "Do You Want to Dance" and more closely the Motown hit, "Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance)". But here the musicianship is so much higher, and the technical excellence of the recording is so much better that the song just jumps right into your psyche. Why did I give this disc five stars? Because I've owned this disc six weeks already and I haven't put it away yet. This is one of those {relatively rare) discs that, if I turned up the volume in my car stereo, rolled down the windows and drove around downtown, I would actually be performing a public service!"
