Esta Es La Casa...

"Before U2 singing in 2004 ¨uno dos tres catorce...(Vertigo)¨ there were Eurythmics singing ¨Esta es la casa ...this is the house¨; now, how groundbreaking was that back in 1983 an english band would utter some lyrics in spanish?
The songs are top-notch, I prefer the obscurities here: ¨somebody told me¨ has a really sexy beat; ¨I 've got an angel¨ is pure 80's rhythm; and ¨I Could Give You ¨ is so damn catchy with its ¨...how can you be so cold ? ....¨ phrase, it makes me wonder why it was not realeased as a single or at least made it to the Eurythmics'greatest hits album.
Ah, and the opening song ¨Love Is Stranger¨, what can I say about this out-of-this-world song? That I have used toothbrushes, mops and brooms to sing it at home when nobody sees me,for over a lifetime.
Fantastic album. They should come up with more newborn music!!!"
Nice remix but not extended and only one version.

"The '91 remix is really in a true sense, a remix. By the early 90's remixes were pretty much meaning a complete overhaul of the song undergoing the remix treatmeant, leaving only the vocals while all the instrumentation was new. Such is not the case here. Quite frankly, some people may not even notice that this is a remix. The music for the most part is all the orignal instruments. However, there are some differences that are subtile.
My 3-Star rating because the song is NOT extended from it's original length and there is only one version of the song here. This is a nice little mini-album all the music is pretty good.
Here is the line-up
1. Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) '91
2. Beethoven (I Love To Listen To)
3. Shame
4. This City Never Sleeps"
Eurythmics: Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) (1983)

"In early 1983, two years after releasing their first album, Eurythmics released their second album entitled, SWEET DREAMS (ARE MADE OF THIS). This album had Eurythmics gain a massive following of fans around the world. This album is very enjoyable, just as their first album had been.
LOVE IS A STRANGER
The third single from the album. I had first heard this song when I had first receive Eurythmics' greatest hits album. This is not quite what I had hoped for, but I would say that this song is a favorite of mine.
I'VE GOT AN ANGEL
I have said this many times and I'll say it again: Any song where the word 'Angel' is in the title, then the song has got to be outstanding. I was almost right about this one. This is not a bad song, but it could have been better.
WRAP IT UP (duet with Green of Scritti Politti)
I could definitely do without this song.
I COULD GIVE YOU (A MIRROR)
Great.
THE WALK
The second single from the album. Great.
SWEET DREAMS (ARE MADE OF THIS)
The fourth & final single from the album, as well as the album's title track. This is a cult classic all the way, despite the fact that it reached the #2 spot, instead of the #1 spot. In 1995, Marilyn Manson had did a cover of this song and he did an amazing job of it. He kept the same sound concept, but he made it heavy, draggy, and spooky to fit his image more. His rendition can be found on his 1995 album entitled, SMELLS LIKE CHILDREN.
JENNIFER
This is a moving ballad. I am not sure of what it means, but I can easily relax to this song. The thing that I find hard to understand is that there is only one verse and one bridge. The lyrics to the verse are, "...Jennifer, with your orange hair, Jennifer, with your green eyes, Jennifer, in your dress of deepest purple, Jennifer, where are you tonight? Jennifer, where are you tonight...?" That verse is said twice in the beginning and then leads into the bridge, where the lyrics to the bridge are: "...Underneath the water. Underneath the water. Underneath the water..." After the bridge, the verse is said one final time.
THIS IS THE HOUSE
The first single from the album. Great.
SOMEBODY TOLD ME
Not bad.
THIS CITY NEVER SLEEPS
Great.
Now, as I had stated before, SWEET DREAMS (ARE MADE OF THIS) is on the same level as its predecessor, IN THE GARDEN. But this album featured a different sound: a synethesized 80s Pop & Rock sound, which is what makes it just as great as IN THE GARDEN."
