"For technical mastery and seamless execution, Evelyn Glenie has no peer in percussion. Underappreciated is her tremendous athletic ability realized in an infinity of strokes without the performance decay that one would expect of merely human muscles. While all the selections on these generous disks are worthy, their sequencing sometimes seems irrational: moods, styles, and genre are strangely mixed. Most of the recordings are excellent, but a few lack the finesse of tonality necessary to catch her subtle variations. If possible, see her in person: she is also a great dramatist who understands silence as well as tone."

"Forget that she's 90% deaf and can't make out tone. This gal's something like a Mozart, or a Bobby Fischer. Wonderful stuff !!"

"A great CD from an amazing percussionist. After listeing, it is easy to tell why she is looked up to by the percussion community. This is a great collection of her best playing."

"This CD contains some great playing of the marimba, set and other percussion instruments but also has a lot of junk on it! Some of the songs leave you going "what the heck was she thinking?" Glennie is a great musician and can undoubtly "play" but this is not her best stuff on two CD's."
