Understand American influence on 60s Britain
thisisgibbie | Indianapolis | 02/24/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Phil and Don were a huge influence on British pop in the late 50s and through the 60s.

If you want a lineage of the vocal qualities of the Liverpool and London recordings from 60 - 67, these Nashville sounds are the parents. "Since you Broke My Heart" is one that was played a lot in Britain, which usually eludes American compilations. Particularly, listen when the brothers contrast in their sweet harmony. You can still here the influence in the music of The Proclaimers.

Recommended."
Great Hits and fine Everly Brothers Originals!
Morten Vindberg | Denmark | 07/30/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This 22 track compilation covers the Everly Brother's Cadence years (1957-60 ), which is by many regarded as their best and most consistent of their long career.

Many of their best known classic hits like "Bye, Bye, Love", "All I Have to Do is Dream", "Wake Up. Little Susie" and "When Will I Be Loved" come from this period and their all included here. In fact, this CD contains the best of their Cadence recordings; only very few of their best early recordings are missing here.

Besides the well-known hits, great Everly Brothers originals like "Should We Tell Him" and "Since You Broke My Heart" are among the highlights. Very obvious that the Everly Bothers very great inspirators for liverpool bands like the Beatles and especially the Searchers.

Fine informative 8 pages-booklet makes this an even more attractive investment."
