CD ReviewsSteering away from "evil" corpsdamour | New Milford, NJ United States | 11/01/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "Simply put, this album shows that Evils Toy is progressing towards pop/dance/club music. In fact, the band recently decided to change their name to "Toy", since they don't sound evil anymore. A far cry from the un-danceable, dark, sinister songs of Human Refuse, Silvertears has some catchy tunes full of energy that make you wanna get off your butt and move around. All in all, this band still has plenty of talent, but I rate this album 4 stars because it lacks that "dark" mood that was in their previous albums." Angels Only! was better, but Silvertears is still great neomurtle | Acworth, GA United States | 11/07/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "When Thorsten Brenda left Evil's Toy, he took some of the Evil's Toy sound with him. Yes, it is obvious that the Evil's Toy sound is changing again and now they seem, well...a little less evil. The lyrics on a couple of the songs just don't seem like they belong on an Evils Toy album. However, that doesn't mean that this album is bad. If you liked Angels Only!, you will most likely be pleased with Silvertears. Those who favored the sound of the earlier Evil's Toy releases such as Illusion and XTC Implant may be let down."
