Don't Let This Band Go Unheard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
T. Reid | NJ | 04/09/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Since Metalcore has turned into a complete cookie cutter factory where everyone sounds the same I went back to my roots with Metal that has clean voices. Progressive metal has changed since I listen to them back in the day. I came across Eyefear on Amazon. Riffs are thick with that metal feel blasted in your face. They have a mid-tempo approach on every song. Songs are not poppy at all. In fact they have a slightly dark feel to them. What makes this band stand out is the singer. He sounds like everyone else until he kicks in the vibrato. When this happens he sounds like NO ONE. He uses them a lot which sets him apart from the rest. His voice is very recognizable. It takes a bit to get use to but It grew on me. Every song is solid, heavy and VERY entertaining except Wasting Away (Alone)which is a ballad. I like the song but it took me out of the album's feel. Maybe this song should have been last. Get this people. If you like Prog-Metal then give them a chance. Nothing ground breaking here, just a SOLID album for Prog-Metal fans."
