Synopsis

Album Description
With their debut album (The Carbon Copy Silver Lining) Fair To Midland has managed to build a large underground cult following throughout the south. Fair to Midland's devout fans note them as having sincerity, integrity, and a poetic outlook. They list their influences as: Blue Chip Orchestra, System of a Down, Bjork, the Cranberries, Pitchshifter, Counting Crows, Blind Melon, Sunny Day Real Estate, and many more. They describe their sound as ethnic-passive-aggressive-alternative-metal and will soon earn their place in many stereos.

CD Reviews

"because next to them we are elephants...

"...towering the landscapes and scared of smaller rodents." so goes a quote from the poetic booklet for 'carbon copy silver lining' if you attend any FTM shows, you will, almost without a doubt, realize that they ARE rock and roll giants. this album is simply stunning, but has to be taken in as a whole. sudderth's metaphorical and ideoligical lyrics squealing and ripping over campbell's brillaint and creative guitar-work make this album simply beautiful, a rarity in the world of so-called "metal". from the thrashing "a.o.d.t.r.p" to the gentle "my mentor" we see the many dimensions of an artistic and intelligent band. fans of all genres should certainly buy this album today."
A MUST HAVE

"This is one of the best CD's you can get from an unsigned band. Why they are still unsigned is still a mystery. The lyrics are beautiful and the vocal's are mesmerizing. It truly is a diamond in the rough."
WHY THEY STILL HEADLINE OVER A DOZEN FURIES
Thomas Bryant Law | Dallas, TX | 04/30/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The first time I saw Fair To Midland I was suprised to find them headlining over A Dozen Furies(MTV's Battle For Ozzfest champs). At least I was suprised until I experienced their refreshingly original art metal music and stage shaking performance first hand. The perfect balance of ambient soundscapes colliding with growling metal. Andrew Sudderth uses Native American influences and an unbelievable octave range to perfectly convey his imaginative lyrics and suck you into his world. I could fill a whole page going on about these guys, but you have to find out for yourself. Go to their website at www.ftmband.com and check out their new CD "inter.funda.stifle"."
