"In 1981 Fatback unleashed this album on what was likely a VERY unprpared R&B and funk audience."Tasty Jam" is an album containing six uptempo funk jams (some extended, come not) underpinned by hot horns, spiky synts and guitars and
endless silly vocal chants, all heard best on the lusciously grooving "Wanna Dance (Keep Up The Dance)".But what does this album say above other funk albums? One,it contains no ballads or slow jams AT ALL and is 100% USDA FONK!!!;two, the album seems to be a plea to jump abourd then then-rolling go-go music gravy train along with EU,Chuck Brown and Trouble Funk (the latter who's sound this music most resembles) and three, there are no song structures to get in the way of these great grooves. So those
expecting a diverse R&B package, steer clear. But those looking for a no-holes-barred FUNK PARTY this IS the place for you!"
