No match for "The Record", but it has its moments...

"'The Mouth Don't Stop' (written by lead guitarist Philo Cramer) is a great opening track, 'Null Detector' and 'Strangulation' are nasty, breakneck rockers in the Fear tradition, and 'Welcome to the Dust Ward' is an eerie, compelling, strangely humorless dirge narrated by a patient in a mental institution. On the down side, there's quite a bit of filler ('Responsibility', 'Hey', 'Waiting for the Meat'), but vocalist/rhythm guitarist/crowd-inciter extraordinaire Lee Ving is in fine form throughout. No one in the punk world has a better set of pipes.

"More Beer" is by no means a great album (it marks the beginning of Fear's descent into self-parody with endless beer-themed songs), but it's a fun listen overall and deserves to be back in print. Incidentally, my friend's old copy has the bonus tracks--'I Love Livin' in the City' and 'Now You're Dead' from Fear's 1977 debut single--listed on the back cover, but they aren't on the CD. Does anyone have a copy of "More Beer" that actually contains the bonus tracks?"

"Saw Fear in 1982! Now and forever a great band.This Lp isnt as good as Fear The Record but is a classic anyway.The Trouble with Women(the mouth don't stop) and Null Detector are great as well as the rest of the LP. Don't listen to the PC Police who can't take a joke.Fear Rocks! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!"
