One of Wales's leading young sopranos, Elin Manahan Thomas first received great acclaim for her `Pie Jesu' on an award-winning recording of the Rutter Requiem, and was most recently praised as soloist in Bach's St. Matthew Passion at Cadogan Hall and the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, under Sir John Eliot Gardiner. This year will see her be the first soprano ever to record Bach's Alles mit Gott, a birthday ode written in 1713 and discovered in 2005 in Weimar. Early on, she won a choral scholarship to Clare College, Cambridge, with whose famous choir she was a regular soloist on their many CDs, on tours, and also on their BBC Radio 3 Evensong broadcasts.
