A Real Grimey Hard Core Rap Album

"If you are looking for a hardcore rap album with a lot of profanity and some real hard gangsta lyrics, then Federation's self-titled album is for you. They are gritty, grimey and quite obviously are not trying to appease radio or crossover listeners. They seem true to their style. They almost remind me of NWA in their early days. Can they even have one whole verse without calling a woman a hoe or a bitch or using a curse word? Who knows. On to the music.
"We Ride" is a bouncy track that you can ride to. Track number 3 has a unique sound with a background noise that can proof to be annoying. Legendary West Coast artist E-40 is featured on this track. "Ghetto Love Song" is your standard thugs need love song. It is a decent track. The song "What If I Had A Gun" has a crazy track with a driving beat. This song features Twista and Undaflow. The album doesn't feature many well known guest artists outside of Twista and E-40 but artists Next Level, Battle Loc, El Dorado Red, and Kinsmokie.
The song "In Love With A Hoodrat" is a street and grimey song about a neighborhood rat that used to "love to slurp and lick." "Hoes In Here" is a another song that doesn't do much to praise women.
What makes the Federation album unique in a sense is it is so raw and so grimey and has such a sense of "I don't give a f**k," that it's almost refreshing to see a rap album that isn't studio formula. It's almost like, and this is not a diss, a really hot demo. Like Federation just went in the studio and made a really hot album with not suits hanging over them telling them how to make the record.
"You Might See Me" is a bouncy song that has potential to be a radio single. The song "Damn" has a real old school feel.
Although, they are from the West Coast, Federation's debut album has a real down south like Texas kind of vibe. If you are looking for a grimey real hard core rap album check out Federation's debut album Federation."
