"Passionate and unique,Fenton's combination of blues and jazz shuffles, commuting easily from traditional blues to improvisation and fusion leaves all competition in the dust.A great vocalist as well,Fenton added fuel to the fire by inviting Junior Wells aboard, while the horn section featured on a number of tracks simply does no wrong."

"Sure, they're all downhearted and they've all had hard luck & trouble. But given half a chance, they'd raise up off the ground and pop you one in the mouth. Not Fenton. There's a gentleness and resignation to him unlike any other blues artist I know. The man is defeated. Lucky for us, we get to hear him play & sing about it. One of my profound regrets is that I never got to see him perform. Rest in peace, Brother Robinson."

"fenton is another great bluesman who's music end life had its ups and downs. fenton played some great chicago blues and on this cd it continues in grand style. if you like the sound of floyd macdaniel or even dave specter you will love fenton. two great songs are my favorites "sinners prayer" and "nightflight" rip fenton"
