CD Reviews

Simply Beautiful
A. Laughlin | Clinton, MS USA | 12/20/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"As I've been reading the reviews here, I've been noticing that they all talk only about the main song on the single, "Eyes on Me." It is certainly a beautiful, sweet, and touching song, and was the reason that I first bought the single, but I can't help but wonder why no one has commented on the other song included on the single. Though there is no translation of its lyrics included and I'm not even familiar enough with the language to be able to tell if Faye Wong is singing it in Chinese or Japanese, in her pure, lovely voice it is easily as beautiful as "Eyes On Me." This second song is the primary reason that I'd like to acquire some of Faye Wong's albums. I'd hate to think that most of the reviewers are discounting it because it's in a language that they don't understand or because it wasn't part of Final Fantasy VIII."
The best of Faye Wong

(5 out of 5 stars)

"The first time I heard it, I was surprise how well she sang in English. I kept thinking that it couldn't be Faye Wong, I was happy I was wrong. The music fits perfectly well with the game Final Fantasy VIII that I'm happy Squaresoft decides to have a main theme tune. The song is sang with Faye perfection as always and it is worth getting, even if it's just to hear Faye sing in English again. Though in honest opinion, Faye's chinese songs are much better, expressive and creative. My only downside is that Faye will never release an English album. I hope she changes her mind."
I cried!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"In Final Fantasy 8 I cried a lot! But hearing this wonderful melody I cried even harder. I am in choir and orchestra and I sing and play this song a lot! I love it because it also sounds good on my Viola! (haha violins) Anywho, BUY IT!"
