Beautiful Fantasy

"This is a gorgeous recording of the Fantasy, and has recently become one of my favorites. It may not have the intensity of a Pollini or Richter, but for me it is every bit as satisfying. Bold, clean, dramatic in its own right, with Fiorentino I get a sense of a mature pianist who knows what to do with this work. I can not say the same about the Kissin disc, nor was I inclined to endure repeated listening of the poorly recorded Richter on EMI. The other pieces on the disk are done as beautifully as the Fantasy. The APR disc costs a little more than the others, but I found it well worth the investment, particularly with the competitive offers in the Amazon Marketplace."
