Album DescriptionWith this album, FOCS makes the leap from Boston favorites to world class performers, from a cover band to a pop vocal band whose original tunes will likely find their way into the collegiate a cappella repertoire of "emulated" arrangements. They open with "Mine Tonight," whose upbeat hook begs to be the theme song for a romantic comedy. Other great originals include power ballad "Hold Me For A While" alt-pop "Think of You," their best version yet of "Tribute," and an enjoyably reconfigured "Move On" which Paul Pampinella originally wrote for Vox One. They also sing a great cover of Sean Altman's "Far Away," as well as "If You Could Only See" and their rocking signature, "Get Down Tonight" with a tasty segue in the middle to "That's The Way." With Pampinella leading production, the group has a professionally crafted recording full of subtleties that emerge with repeated listening. This is one to keep in the CD player for a while!
