CD ReviewsFive star - five star pupstud | UK | 04/19/2003 (2 out of 5 stars) "After much anticipation of their first release on Epic "Five Star" lacks the polished quality of their previous releases on RCA. This albums see the brothers and sisters take over and have written all 10 tracks themselves (giving Denise some time off from lead vocals). Opening track "Treat Me like a Lady" (their first single from the album) suffered a poor remix by Shep Petitbone, when they would of done better to have left it as it's original version. "Hot Love"(second single), "That's The Way I Like It", "I'm Still Waiting", "lost In You" and "what About About Me Baby?" are the stand out tracks on this album proving Denise, Delroy and Doris are the musical tour de force of the group, the latter track being a soft rock, power ballad ( it was common to have one rock influenced track on their albums by this date, which was always written by Denise). The vocal arrangements (again by Denise)are interesting but are barely audible due to the poor production by John Barnes. After Lorraine's past efforts I was dissapointed by her solo vocal track, "I Can Show You Love" but that was again due to poor production and Stedman's solo effort "Feelings" leaves a little to be desired but would have had a lot more potential if Doris had taken lead(she co-wrote this one too). The other 2 tracks are are brave attempts by Denise to try out different styles (r n b ballad "feel Much Better" and spanish influenced "Tiennes Mi Amour") proving that she is a natural when it comes to writing music. My one question is why then has she not launched her solo career?"
