""Crossing Over" by the Italian guitarist Flavio Cucchi is one of the best works a real music lover may listen to. The music in it is music with no labels, and places itself at the borderline between written and improvised music. Flavio is a classical guitarist, but this recording goes beyond the usual classical guitar literature. The composers whose works are performed by Flavio and his guest artists in this CD (D'Angelo, Piazzolla, Towner, and Sidney) are among the best examples of modern composers for the guitar. They really have something to communicate, and Flavio enriches their creations with a great interpretation. I love in particular Anthony Sidney's music and I hope that Flavio will record more Sidney's music in the future."
