Synopsis

Product Description
Italy's FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE has finished work on its second album, a 5-track EP titled Mafia. Vocalist Paolo Rossi comments: "The album focuses on the connection between racketeering and illness. It's like a hidden sickness that consumes us from deep within and that can't be erased, unless you decide to wake up and face it. Mafia is like an octopus, whose tentacles grab everyone's free will, and pushes everybody in fear. Mafia is dedicated to all the people who lost their life fighting against these criminals." Paolo Rossi The album was recorded, mixed and mastered at 16th Cellar Studio in Rome by Stefano "Saul" Morabito.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Honestly, if you thought that technical death metal was just for fags who like to spell brutal "br00tal" and self-indulgent guitarists, then you'd right about nearly ever tech/death band other than Fleshgod Apocalypse. Mafia is as interesting and compelling as "Oracles" and certainly as classically oriented. This is as intelligent and genuinely beautiful as Berlioz or Wagner, assuming your ear can catch the lightning-fast riffs. But don't think that the cerebral nature of this stuff takes away from the sheer fury of the songs. This isn't for Arch Enemy fans.

"Thru Our Scars" is just about as catchy as Madonna, as thought-provoking Dylan, and as heavy and technical as Nile. This EP is my pick for Death Metal album of the year. Who know Italians were this pissed?

See what happens when you listen to this stuff? Even your usage of the English language gets more technical!"
