CD Reviews

Gorgeous stuff
E. C Goodstein | Northern CA United States | 04/16/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"A very beautiful, fun and intricate pairing. Wolfe was originally a student of Bertoncini & they've developed into

colleagues over the years. Highly virtuoso but not just intricate doodling. They fill out the melodies and harmonies really well. Wolfe's electric stylings are nice compliment to GB's acoustic. Bertoncini has some other fine duo work with bassist Michael Moore and other guitarists. This one is a standout even so-- they're very much on the same wavelength. Great playing, playful and inventive versions of mainly standards as good as you can get!! If you like jazz guitar, or even just acoustic stylings on guitar, I think you'll love it!!"
Stunningly beautiful

"Intricate, mesmerizing duets by two underappreciated artists of the jazz guitar. I have no diea how much time these two artists spent playing together, but this record sounds like they have been doing so for years--they have a finely tuned ear for what each is playing, and are able to weave melodies, harmonies and sonorities into a seamless weave of beutiful music.

If you like jazz guitar (e.g., Joe Pass, Larry Coryell, etc.) I highly recommend this albumn."
