CD ReviewsAnother Recommended Hits Package From A Great Group Kevinduran | 06/01/1999 (4 out of 5 stars) "Since some of A.F.O.S.'s discography is not in print here in the U.S., I've relied on buying this and another hits package or two from this great group. This hits package has some different songs on it than the other hits packages. These guys came up with some nice innovative music during the '80s. You can't beat the classic "Space Age Love Song. Buy it." Good collection, but not the ideal AFOS starter CD J. Merritt | 07/05/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "This is not the AFOS collection to buy if you want the hits. It's missing not only "I Ran" but also "Wishing (If I Had A Photograph of You)" and "The More You Live, the More You Love." In fact, "Space Age Love Song" seems to have been thrown on mainly as a hook to buyers, because the rest of this stuff is decidedly obscure to the casual listener of 80's new wave. However, if you buy a good hits collection (I would recommend the Platinum and Gold Collection) and find that you're really digging this band, then this CD is a good next step. The disc features a generous selection of well-chosen tracks from their 1981-1986 heyday. It also features some absolute cheese, like "Who's That Girl (She's Got It)" and "Say So Much," both of which are insanely catchy and mindlessly dumb. And "Love On Your Knees" is not even worthy of discussion. Better to focus on their more inspired work, such as "Over My Head," "Remember David" (perhaps their finest song), "Messages," "The Traveller," "European (I Wish I Was)," and "The End," which is a perfect wrap-up to the disc. Now if only it weren't in the "Shame It's Out-of-Print" File..." Great cd, but "I Ran" isn't on it!! Can you believe that? Kevinduran | Indianapolis, Indiana USA | 01/19/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "I really don't know how A Flock Of Seagulls best-of cd can exist without their biggest hit "I Ran"! That's just shocking! But it's okay, because I have their U.S. greatest hits which includes "I Ran." This cd contains many songs that are hard to find on cd, or maybe never even were on cd before! And for an import cd, it's nice and cheap! The liner notes for this cd are fairly typical for a low price cd: just some song credits and an obligatory paragraph about the band. No inside pictures. Great cd... it's nice to have "Remember David" on cd now."
