CD ReviewsFire & Snakes roosey | South Lake Tahoe | 05/24/2003 (4 out of 5 stars) "Follow For Now was one of Atlanta's greatest misses with only one release. These dirty south players made some white kids shake it. You can pick them up in any bargain bin a well worth purchase. Fun funk rock from Hotlanta" Excellent record -- earlier work from David Ryan Harris John S. Harris | Memphis, TN | 06/18/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "I was introduced to David Ryan Harris courtesy of his early 2000's band Brand New Immortals playing an opening gig for Oysterhead on an HBO program (or else they were just on the same program and BNI played first). I bought the Brand New Immortals' one and only CD "Tragic Show" immediately afterward and have played it a great many times over the years. Fantastic record. Then I bought Harris' two solo CDs. Both are excellent. Only then did I learn about Follow For Now, a much-revered five-piece band from Atlanta that DRH was chief singer and songwriter for. Fans raved about this band as a live act and for their eponymously-named record. I finally tracked it down. This is a great record and was probably even a bit ahead of its time. It was released in 1991, hot on the heels of Living Colour's 1990 masterpiece "Time's Up", to which "FFN" will unavoidably be compared. Both records are great, but "FFN" has even more of a fun playfulness to it. I understand the raves for this record, though I have the perspective of having heard David Ryan Harris' more "matured" songwriting and singing long before hearing this earlier work. But I will not let that comparison detract from my appreciation for this record. Do whatever you have to do to get a copy of this. If you liked Living Colour, this band might be right up your alley. If you like FFN, Living Colour might be right up your alley. Works both ways. Some people, if offered the chance to go back in time, would do something important like kill Hitler as an infant or forewarn people of some impending natural disaster. Right now, if I could go back in time I would travel to Atlanta 20 years ago to hear this band perform live. That, and buy Apple stock. " Milkbone, BOOTY CRUNCH! Michael Preston Headzup | SRQ Florida | 12/12/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "This Cd rocks! Was glad to see these cats live, ONCE! There's a line in a song that talks about redecoratin' the White House in Magenta, patchwork quilts, and lava lamps! Sounds like what I'd hope Obama might do! ROCK ON! And coming up on you left we have the Lincon Memorial. Has a strikin' resem to Jimi Hendrix under these strobe lights, wouldn't ya say?!? Love FFN, you will too!"
