Synopsis
Album Description The Invisible Girl is the soundtrack to a rainy day filled with tales of sad break-ups (Mr. & Mrs.), dreamy crush stories (The People We Are) and lonely trips to outer space (We Fear Change). Angular bursts of pop, spangled up melodies, the buzz of vintage organs and layers of chiming guitars highlight Emily Cook's angelic, yet snarly, vocals. From jangly love songs to spirited tracks like Forever and Never which collapse into a wash of piercing noise and feedback, The Invisible Girl is the perfect CD to keep by your side. |
CD ReviewsPop! Negaverse | 06/13/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "I really liked Fonda's debut album. Listeners will no doubt compare them to Echobelly because of lead singer Emily Cook's vocal similarites to Sonya Madan, but I think there is also a certain quality to the slower songs like 'Mr. and Mrs.' that separates them from the rest. Some of it is a bit average power-pop, but for the most part Fonda deliver. I think they are listed on MP3.com if you'd like to hear them, I highly recommend it."
