An excellent introduction to the music of Antonio Vivaldi

"Bela Banfalvi and the Budapest Strings offer a vibrant performance of the Four Seasons that will catch the ear of any new listener of Vivaldi. Forget about those labels "baroque" and "authentic instruments" - this is classical music at its most vital - exciting to listen to, full of suprizes, spacious and free, and at the same time almost "dripping" with supremely controlled emotion in true Vivaldian spirit. This is the kind of recording that introduces and converts new listeners to classical music. There may be finer recordings of the Four Seasons on the market, but its hard to beat this one for its good recording and performance values at this budget price."
