Album DescriptionThis exciting recording features a treasure chest of American music buried under a century of dust. The three composers featured, Damrosch, Whiting and Converse were famous in their time, but their names are scarcely known today and their works seldom performed. "At Fox Meadow" features previously unrecorded works and is the first album in a series presenting composers associated with the Cornish Colony. The Cornish Colony, in Cornish, NH, thrived from 1900-1917 and was the permanent residence of painter Maxfield Parrish and sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens as well as dozens of other people from the creative arts.
