"The composer Wilhelm Peterson-Berger is the personification of Swedish summer. When a Swede is talking about classical summermusic, he's talking about Frösöblomster. Frösön, an island in the great lake of Storsjön in the middle of Sweden was for many years the home of the composer and his home there 'Sommarhagen' inspired him to many of his works, especially Frösöblomster book 3. During his time of living, Peterson-Berger wasn't known to the public as a composer. The people of Sweden knew him as the mean critic under the signature P-B. in the 'Dagens Nyheter' newspaper. He could write things like: "Mr. Atterbergs latest work sounds like a transcription of the sound appearing when the mistress was cleaning the piano during the sunday".Noriko Ogawa plays this work as it should be played, happily and hopeful. You shold really buy this record, it is a good investment!"
