"Francoise Hardy had a brief but enormous success as a performer who wrote many of her songs. This CD collection contains most of the best from her early days -- "Et Meme," "Tous les garcons et les filles," "Mon ami la rose, " "C'etait l'amour auquel je pense." Even if you don't know french, these are special; and a very good reason to learn the language sufficiently to appreciate the nuances. Her songs are matched with interesting and complicated arrangements, some of which lend a rendolence both to Phil Spector and Jacques Brel. This is the best of the ye-ye sound of the early 1960's and deserves to be rediscovered."
Truly outstanding!!!

"This is a real find. Françoise Hardy performs 16 really great songs excellently. These songs are from her 1960s period; they are moody, subtle, and utterly delightful. While it helps to know French to appreciate the subtleties, their range and tunefulness make them worth listening to, irregardless. "Tous les garçons et les filles," "Mon ami, la rose," and "Les temps de amour" are really good. Françoise had to have been the coolest singer of her time."
