Great for completing your collection

"This is a good CD if you're a Francis Cabrel fan who is trying to complete your collection. This is his first album and is still a little rough around the edges. It's good, but his music is much better in later years when he becomes a more seasoned musician who can show off his guitar skills and writing capabilities. He becomes a better guitarist later in his career, playing more complex chords creating a rich textured tapestry. The guitar in this CD is simple in comparison and sometimes difficult to hear ... and the instrumental accompaniment doesn't always complement and/or overpower each other. If you are considering this CD for the songs _Petite Marie_ and _Les Murs de Poussiere_, then you may be a little disappointed at the rest of this CD. What you should consider is getting his _77-87_ CD instead. The _77-87_ CD contains these two songs plus many of his other hits. You won't be disappointed! And if you want to hear live versions, get _Cabrel Public_.I love Francis Cabrel, have most of his CDs and listen to them almost everyday. And I think this is a great CD ... but I only give it 3 stars because it pales a little in comparison to some of his other CDs. I also didn't want to mislead people, who are new to Cabrel, into thinking this is a good first pick CD. I recommend _77-87_ for Cabrel neophytes because it is a better introductory album."

"This is definitely one of Cabrel's best cds. The lyrics are so touching and the songs are very relevant. I listen to this cd all the time. Even if you don't understand French, you can feel this music. Les Murs de Poussiere est absolutement un des meilleurs cds de Cabrel. Les paroles sont tres belles et les chansons sont parfaites. J'ecoute ce cd tout le temps. Il ne faut meme pas comprendre le francais pour apprecier cette musique--elle est belle meme sans les paroles."
