Futuristic Italian Pop

"Great Italian Pop from "Il Padrone." Like all of Battiato's works, this one also has a central theme -- Space, and what is out there. This collection of songs may well be titled: Mr. Battiato meets Captain Jean Luc Picard. More importantly, this CD doesn't ask earthlings if we are ready to meet visitors from far away worlds and galaxies. But rather, it asks: Are "they" ready to meet us? Considering the damage we have done to the world, this is a very fair question. Once again, Battiato uses his limited, but highly effective, voice to perfection. The instrumentation is the standard assortment of Battiato techno-pop done to absolute perfection. Lyrically, Battiato remains the poet and philosopher. As such, his works are subject to a wide-range of interpretations. I definitely recommend this CD."
