"Franco Battiato has been a favorite composer/musician of mine since I first heard this recording in Italy in the early eighties. I think that the largest rewards await those who enjoy the Italian language and also have a taste for thoughtful euro-pop. Battiato is a varied and accomplished composer and lyricist whose work ranges from avant-guarde, to symphonic, to ... well, THIS stuff, which is definately pop flavored but goes pretty deep. I haven't caught all his stuff, but this one has stayed with me after many years. I've yearned to turn people on to this in the States, maybe someday he'll find a small audience here. He deserves a large one."
